Additional Care Services

We are committed to proving high-quality care and outstanding service. Our goal is to help you return to the highest quality of life possible. In addition to our core services, we offer:

Advanced Nutrition

If illness or surgery adversely affects your stomach or digestive system, we administer medication and nutrition through a PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) or a PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) to be sure your body receives the nutrition needed for your recovery.

Endoscopy

Your physician may require you to receive an endoscopy to see inside your digestive system. During this procedure, an endoscope (a flexible, lighted tube) is inserted into the digestive system. This allows the physician to carefully examine the lining of these organs. Our endoscopy team works to make you as comfortable as possible before, during and after the procedure.

Geriatric Services

We host a team of geriatric specialists ranging from physicians to therapists to dietitians who focus on helping our senior patients live life as actively and independently as possible for as long as possible.

Neurology Department

Our neurologists provide different types of tests such as EEGs, EMGs and NCVs.

Sleep Disorder Studies

Left untreated, sleep disorders can lead to chronic fatigue and even serious accidents as a result of decreased alertness. Our coordinated care team of sleep specialists can analyze your sleeping problems and offer restful solutions.

Hearing Impaired

Should you need a signer for the deaf or hearing impaired, please reach out to our Case Management Department. Special equipment, such as an amplifier for your phone and TDD (telecommunications device for the deaf), also is available. Ask your case manager to assist you with these services.

Interpreters

Language is no barrier. If you do not speak English fluently, do not worry. The quality of your treatment will not be affected in any way. We make arrangements for an interpreter to communicate with our non-English speaking patients and visitors.

If you need the help of an interpreter, tell your case manager or caregiver. If our in-house interpreters cannot speak your language, we will obtain the services you need to enable communication with you.

Surgical Services

Surgical services are available around the clock. If necessary, for some specialty procedures, you or your loved one may be transferred to another facility.

Social Services

A wide range of social services – including counseling, discharge planning, referrals to community agencies and securing medical equipment for home use – is provided. Family members are also invited to take part in counseling.

When kidney failure occurs, dialysis is essential to filter impurities from your blood and maintain the chemical balance you need. If you are experiencing a multi-system failure, our specialized treatment allows us to care for your complex condition. We may offer dialysis in a designated room or at the bedside.

Food Services and Nutrition Support

Nutrition is an important part of your recovery. Our dietitians work with your entire care team to create your custom meal plan. Your food preferences and allergies are important. Our dietitians create plans that make the most sense for you.

Additionally, our dietitians perform assessments and monitor your nutrition plan, as ordered by your clinical team.

Infectious Disease Treatments

When you have been diagnosed with an infectious disease, we develop a specialized treatment plan to avoid further health complications. Treatments could include antibiotics or antiviral medications, among others.

We may be able to help if you’re experiencing:

  • Infected pressure ulcers
  • Bacterial infections
  • Post-surgical wounds
  • Cellulitis
  • Viral infections
  • Sepsis
  • Fungal infections
  • Osteomyelitis

Intensive Care

After a hospital stay for a serious injury or illness, you may need continued critical care and intensive monitoring. We provide this close, constant attention through a specially trained clinical team in our intensive care unit or high activity unit.

We also work with your referring hospital to make your care transition as smooth as possible, without interrupting the treatment you require.

Most often, our intensive care unit treats those who are ventilator dependent or require cardiac monitoring and intravenous medications. We can also treat multi-system failure or complications from an injury, illness or surgery.

Intravenous Drug and Nutrition Therapy

If you require intravenous therapy for medications or nutrition, our physicians, nurses and pharmacists monitor and administer IV therapies including:

  • Total and peripheral nutrition
  • Sedation
  • Cardiovascular
  • Anticoagulation
  • Antibiotics

Our hospital features on-site laboratories, allowing us to work directly with your clinical team to conduct all required tests. To perform tests as accurately and quickly as possible, we have advanced technologies and equipment.

Pain Management

Our clinical team is extensively trained and committed to your pain management and prevention. We continually assess your pain level and respond to your reports. We also provide information and education to help you and your loved ones make decisions about your pain treatment options.

You may request or reject the use of any or all methods to relieve pain, including non-opiate and opiate medications.

Pharmacy Services

Our hospitals provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services where our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians collaborate with your care team to meet medication needs, educate you and your loved ones about medications, and participate in multidisciplinary care planning sessions.

Telemetry Services

We use innovative technology to offer continuous monitoring for a variety of conditions.

You might receive telemetry services for the following:

  • Recent history of unstable cardiac rhythm
  • Active ischemic heart disease
  • Early efforts to actively wean from mechanical ventilators
  • Respiratory failure or impending respiratory failure requiring close monitoring of cardiac rhythm
  • Recent myocardial infarction
  • Drug toxicity associated with conduction abnormalities
  • Anti-arrhythmic therapy
  • IV calcium channel blocker and beta blocker

Tracheostomy Care

Certain conditions, like a severe lung disorder, neurological problem or infection, can make it impossible to breathe. Your physician may need to perform a tracheotomy to create a hole in your windpipe to help keep it open. This cut in the trachea is referred to as a tracheostomy. It is often combined with mechanical ventilation for breathing assistance.

Our coordinated care team provides the care you need to prevent serious complications like infection or bleeding after surgical procedures. We work with you and your loved ones to begin rehabilitation so you can learn to breathe independently as quickly as your recovery allows.
